How to use our products

Patch Testing

There is a good chance that your skin has not had exposure to some of the ingredients contained in our products. For this reason, you should always perform a patch test.

Performing a Patch Test

All you have to do is:

  • Place a small blob of the product on the tip of a finger
  • Rub the product into the inside of your forearm
  • Leave for at least 2 hours
  • If there is any sign of irritation, DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT.

If you do have a reaction, let us know and return the product and we'll replace it with one which hopefully will not cause irritation.

General Cautions

If applying to broken, bruised or irritated skin, there may be some stinging involved! Make sure that you are applying the right product for the right skin situation.

Always be careful if applying round the eyes. Oils will disrupt the water round your eye and may cause irritation or even pain.

Using Oils

Our oils are packaged in glass bottles with a pump action top to make it easy to get just the right amount out of the bottle. Simply apply it to your skin liberally, so that the skin is slightly oily and leave for a minute to sink in. If there is any oily feel left on the skin, rub it in.

If lots of active ingredients have been added to the the product, it may feel more greesy than our usual formulas, but be patient! Wait another minute before rubbing it in.

Using Creams

Our creams are priced low so that you don't worry so much about using them! We find that our customers get the best results by applying the cream on the desired area until it is wet. Wait a minute and then rub in any that may be left.

If lots of active ingredients have been added to the the product, it may feel more greesy than our usual formulas, but be patient! Wait a little longer, say 3 minutes, before rubbing it in.

Using Lotions

At the moment we only do a shaving lotion. This has been designed specifically to be used without water. Apply the shaving lotion to dry skin, shave and then rub in what's left!

Using Serums

Please be careful using serums!

Serums are concentrated active ingredients without carrriers, so can be very effective if used correctly. This differs vastly between skin types, so it is difficult to offer precise advice.

The general rule is the more sensitive the skin, the more cautious you have to be using it. folowing a skin patch, try using small amounts on particular areas and follow their progress. You may well be able to increase the application over time.
